Dinosaur of the day Riojasaurus, a Triassic sauropodomorph from Argentina that may have been bipedal.

Interview with Tadd Galusha, writer and illustrator of the graphic novel Cretaceous. He’s a comic artist and illustrator, who also created the web comic The Backwoods and worked on Godzilla and TMNT/Ghostbusters 2.   • In Nevada, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum has a new exhibit, “Dinosaurs Take Flight” that focuses on Archaeopteryx

Dinosaur of the day Supersaurus, a Portuguese relative of Diplodocus.

In dinosaur news this week:

  • Several new opalized Iguanodontian fossils were described from Australia and were used to name a new dinosaur: Fostoria
  • Two new dinosaurs were found in Thailand within a few miles of each other: Phuwiangvenator and Vayuraptor
  • The National Museum in Rio de Janeiro lost less specimens than previously thought
  • The new exhibit DinoQuest opened at the Science Centre Singapore
  • A replica of Scotty the T. rex is now at the Durham Museum in Omaha, Nebraska
  • The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History Hall of Fossils reopened after years of renovations
  • Kids from two group homes in Oklahoma will be digging for dinosaurs this summer at a site near Black Mesa
  • Robert McIntosh made a video flying a drone through the Natural History Museum of Utah
  • The French Lick Scenic Railway will have a Dinosaur Adventure Train and other activities
  • In Michigan, 77-year old Sandra Crabb recently purchased Prehistoric Forest and hopes to bring it back to life
  • In New Brunswick, Canada, Robin Hanson made a T. rex sculpture for his grandchildren
  • John Hendrick’s mansion and ranch in Gateway, Colorado, is for sale including a dinosaur footprint
  • Netflix released the first trailer for the new animated Jurassic World spinoff, Jurassic Park: Camp Cretaceous

Dinosaur of the day Shuvuuia, a Mongolian alvarezsaurid that was probably covered in dino fuzz.

  • Tammy and the T. rex is getting a re-release on Monday, June 17 at the Chicago Cinepocalypse film festival
  • Netflix is making a Jurassic World animated TV show called Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous
  • Jurassic World Evolution is getting new DLC featuring Claire Dearing saving dinosaurs
  • the Science Museum of Minnesota is holding a dinosaur event on July 13
  • The North American Paleontological Convention is coming up on June 23–27 at the University of California, Riverside

  • A new Late Jurassic sauropod named Oceanotitan was described from Portugal
  • A new study shows that sauropods probably walked on their toes with a large fleshy pad under their heel
  • About 20 bones have been recovered from the ceratopsian in Highlands Ranch, Colorado
  • The court case over the dueling dinosaurs (a ceratopsian and tyrannosaur) is headed back to Montana
  • Theropod dinosaur footprints have been found in Phu Pha Lek National Park in Thailand
  • Amerst College’s Beneski Museum of Natural History is now home to some dinosaur footprints
  • Glenrock Paleon Museum in Wyoming has a new ceratopsian, nicknamed Carol
  • Smithsonian created 3D models of the Nation’s T. rex and their Triceratops which are free to download
  • There’s a big dinosaur exhibit at the Guangdong Science Center in China, called The World’s Largest Dinosaurs
  • Flamingo Gardens in Florida has life-sized dinosaurs on display
  • Field Station: Dinosaurs reopened in New Jersey
  • The Milwaukee County Zoo in Wisconsin has Lego dinosaurs for the summer
  • In Kansas City, Missouri, retired couple Bruce and Judith Wake dig up dinosaurs and show them at schools
  • PC Games made a list of the best dinosaur games on PC
  • A new production of Ari Rudenko’s Ghosts of Hell Creek will in Bali, Indonesia on June 14-15
