Dinosaur of the day Mei long, the "soundly sleeping dragon" from China.

In dinosaur news this week:

  • A new Iguanodontian, Pareisactus evrostos, was found in Spain with an extra thick shoulder blade
  • A roughly three-year-old early Saurischian, Nhandumirim waldsangae, was found in Brazil and named after its distant cousin: the rhea
  • An Iguanodontian, Sektensaurus sanjuanboscoi, was found on an island in a lake that’s only visible when water levels are low
  • 25% a trackway from Winton, Queensland, Australia have been relocated to protect them from erosion
  • A professional LEGO building company, is working on the “Brickosaur” show for Marwell Zoo in Hampshire, UK
  • Someone managed to flyboard while wearing an inflatable T. rex costume
  • Apex Legends has dinosaur easter eggs in the form of dinosaur toys
  • A “Jurassic Fight Night” with large dinosaur puppets was held in Phoenix, Arizona
  • Ashley Hall started a new Instagram @dresslikeascientist which features lots of dinosaur clothes and accessories

Dinosaur of the day Dromiceiomimus, likely one of the fastest dinosaurs of the Mesozoic.

Interview with Eric Przybyszewski, a student at Montana State University’s Department of Earth Sciences and researcher at Two Medicine Dinosaur Center in Bynum, Montana. He is the lead author of the team working on a newly found dinosaur nesting site in Montana.

In dinosaur news this week:

  • A new enantiornithine from China, Shangyang, the “rain bird” was described with a fused premaxilla
  • Mnyamawamtuka moyowamkia, found in Tanzania is one of the most complete early titanosaurs found to date
  • New legislation may define fossils as part of a property’s surface rights to prevent future lawsuits
  • The National Museum in Brazil has recovered about 2,000 items following the massive fire last year
  • The Sternberg Museum of Natural History has opened its new Oceans of Kansas Fossil Prep Lab
  • Boonshoft Museum of Discovery has a Dinosaur Discovery exhibit up from now through April in Ohio
  • BBC has a new film called My Pet Dinosaur including dinosaur science and science fiction

Dinosaur of the day Mussaurus, the "mouse lizard" sauropodomorph from Argentina.

In dinosaur news this week:

  • A new Amargasaurus relative, Bajadasaurus, was described with some amazing neck spines
  • A dinosaur foot including feathers and scutes was found preserved in amber
  • The original feather that defined Archaeopteryx may not belong to Archaeopteryx as it's now defined
  • A new dinosaur fossil went on display in Japan and may be the county's oldest dinosaur fossil
  • An event called Teach Rex in Liverpool in the UK
  • The new owner of a Flintstones theme park in Arizona plans to partially repurpose it for birding
  • A new website is digitizing bird skeletons, so far mostly from New Zealand
  • Both Dippy the Diplodocus and Trix the T. rex will soon be on display together in Glasgow, Scotland
  • There’s a new play in the UK about Gideon Mantell, called Dinomania

Dinosaur of the day Nedoceratops, the lesser known ceratopsian in the Triceratops vs Torosaurus debate.

Interview with Denver Fowler & Liz Freedman Fowler, paleontologists who work at the Badlands Dinosaur Museum. Denver is the curator. Liz is an Associate Professor of Biology at Dickinson State University. They have worked on a nodosaur, tyrannosaur, ceratopsians, hadrosaurs, and other dinosaurs all over the world.
