  • A new 23ft sauropodomorph, Yizhousaurus sunae, was found in southern China
  • A lesson plan for teaching paleontology to children from Julián Nájera is published in both English and Spanish
  • A revisit of Andrew Farke's 2013 article on the ethics of digitizing fossils
  • Fossils that were recently returned to China are now on display in Zhengzhou, in Henan Province
  • Two elephants at the Perth Zoo in Australia went on a tour to meet and greet the animatronic dinosaurs

Dinosaur of the day Bonitasaura, a small titanosaur that had some features similar to Diplodocus.

In dinosaur news this week:

  • A new nodosaurid ankylosaur, Invictarx zephyri, was named based on osteoderms found in New Mexico
  • A review of Ornithischian dinosaurs in the Morrison Formation synonymized a few and split out another named Dryosaurus elderae
  • Visitors to Crystal Palace Park got to get close to the dinosaurs last weekend for Heritage Open Days
  • Three of the 30 dinosaur statues in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada, were recently damaged
  • Chrome used a dinosaur for their 404 error page because dinosaurs didn't have internet
  • On September 18, Universal Pictures and Facebook launched an AR experience for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom to coincide with the DVD release

Dinosaur of the day Alectrosaurus, A medium sized cretaceous tyrannosaur that lived along side Gigantoraptor.

In dinosaur news this week:

  • Three juveniles of a new iguanodontian species named Choyrodon barsboldi were found in Mongolia
  • A new Amargasaurus relative named Pilmatueia faundezi was found in Argentina
  • A fire destroyed most of the National Museum of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro taking with it part of the Iritator holotype, Maxakalisaurus, and many other important fossils
  • They have requested anyone with photos of the exhibits to send them to thg.museo@gmail.com
  • The Museum of Prehistory in Brabant, Netherlands, will be presented with a new Diplodocus skeleton on October 10
  • Cincinnati Museum Center in Ohio is getting a 55% complete 30 ft long Torvosaurus skeleton in November
  • A T. rex skeleton nicknamed Roosevelt is on display at the Erin Martin Design showroom in Napa County, CA
  • A single industrial park in China is responsible for most of the dinosaur animatronics created in the world
  • A family in Great Falls, Montana created a mini sauropod sculpture
  • Google Chrome created a birthday edition of the running T. rex to celebrate its 10th anniversary
  • Mattel released an interactive robotic velociraptor toy called "Alpha Training Blue"

Dinosaur of the day Achillobator, a larger dromaeosaur from cretaceous Mongolia.

In dinosaur news this week:

  • Two new alverezsauroids were found in China, filling the largest gap in theropod evolution
  • Walking with Dinosaurs The Arena Spectacular has gone on tour in Europe, with some of the most impressive dinosaur animatronics ever made
  • Expedition: Dinosaur, will be at Grand Rapids Public Museum starting October 14. There will be life sized animatronic dinosaurs, and visitors will be able to control some of them
  • Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History got a $160 million donation from Edward P. Bass, a billionaire and philanthropist who graduated from Yale in 1967
  • Congrats to Drumheller’s World’s Largest Dinosaur Structure which reached two million visitors
  • In Sibay, Russia,a welder caught a T. rex on fire at an amusement park
  • A couple got engaged on the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Studios Hollywood after riding it 62 times, breaking the park record
  • A fiberglass T. rex head is for sale on Okaloosa Island, in Florida
  • Parkasaurus, a sim where you can build your own dinosaur park, is opening up early access on Steam September 25
